Why do we meditate? Why do we bother going through all the effort of meditating and balancing the primary trinity (the physical, the mental and the emotional dimensions of our being)?
A miracle happens once we gain enough momentum, enough balance, enough positivity to open up to the higher dimensions of ourselves. One unmistakable milestone is that … the mind stops! This is what I want to tell you about today.
Some of you may have read, particularly in Buddhist literature, that it is a good thing to stop the mind thinking. Well, you can't exactly stop the mind. You can't tell yourself not to think! Try it, see what happens.
Try it now…
So, what happened? Not much stillness of mind hey! Of course not. That is because we cannot stop the mind with the mind. It is by balancing the primary trinity that eventually you will catch your mind being still. And let me tell you about the beauty of that place! Oh!! The sweetness, the gentle perfection of every second, every breath you take, every sound you hear, all and everything working in harmony. It is the place you get to while being on an airplane and cutting through the clouds until you go beyond the turbulence. Then there is only sky, vastness, freedom, incredible peace. Different people experience it in different ways. How is it going to be for you? All wanting disappears; you suddenly don't need the latest car, a higher paying job, more recognition, healing, etc… There is only One, there is only perfection in the moment.
So my dear fellow meditators, take heart, keep watching your thoughts and emotions, keep exercising and eating balanced food, keep the focus on the balance and you are bound to get there. I am not making promises in the air, it is the mechanics of being human. Balance delivers fulfilment. Yes!
3 Powerful Tips for Making 2007 Your Best Year Ever
Copyright (c) 2006 Tony Mase
As 2006 draws to a close and 2007 is about to begin, I'd like to share with you three simple, yet powerful things you can do over the next couple of weeks that'll help make the coming new year your best year ever...
Here they are:
Tip #1 - Spend some time in gratitude.
Whatever you focus on expands in your life.
If you focus on lack...
That's *exactly* what will expand in your life...
Lack.
If you focus on abundance...
That's *exactly* what will expand in your life...
Abundance.
The practice of gratitude keeps you focused on the abundance you *already* have in your life and thus opens the door for *more* abundance to flow into your life.
Here's what I suggest you do...
Take out a pad of paper and a pen or pencil and make a list of everything you're grateful for...
And I do mean everything - absolutely *everything*!
As you make your list, keep this in mind...
If your life isn't all you'd like it to be right now...
There are a whole lot of people out there who'd gladly trade places with you!
So...
Be grateful for what you *already* have and have *faith* that that which you need and/or want will come to you when the time is right.
And...
While you're at it...
Don't forget to acknowledge the *source* of your *many* blessings.
Tip #2 - Spend some time on your "vision".
It never ceases to amaze me how many people are out there practically killing themselves trying to be "successful", who, when asked, can't even define what "success" is - to *them*.
In other words...
They don't know what they want.
These very same people can usually tell you everything they don't want, but they haven't a clue as to what they do want - what they *really* want.
Don't let that be you!
If you haven't already done so...
Take the time to form a "clear and definite mental picture" of what you want to be, do, and/or have in your life *next*.
If you've already done this...
Now's a real good time to review your vision and revise it if necessary.
Tip #3 - Spend some serious, quality time with your loved ones.
In his book "The Personal Power Course", Wallace D. Wattles, best known for his classic masterpiece "The Science of Getting Rich", wrote:
"Just as it is true that it does not profit a man to gain the whole world if he lose his own soul, so it is true that good health, wealth, talent and success become valueless to the person who fails to attain happiness and satisfaction in the love-relations of the home. To live in happy love-relationships with those near to us is the one thing needful; failing to accomplish this, we fail in all. Health, wealth, talent and success are, to a very great extent at least, without value to a person whom nobody loves."
How true!
People tell me all the time they're working hard now so that "someday" they'll be able to spend more time with their loved ones.
My question to them is always the same...
Why not spend more time with your loved ones *now*?
Here's a question for you to ponder...
What if you got what you thought was so important for you to get, only to discover after you got it that because you neglected them in the process of getting it, there weren't any loved ones there to share it with?
Wouldn't that be sad.
Here's the deal...
Money and things are easy to create and/or replace.
People are not!
So...
This holiday season...
I *highly* encourage you to take stock of what's *truly* important to *you* and spend your time accordingly.
With that...
I wish you and your loved ones the very best of holiday seasons and a wealthy, healthy, successful, and happy New Year!

Winning the Race
In addition to working hard and refusing to give up, something else separates winners from losers. Those who understand and apply it are winners. You can apply it too. You can be a winner!
I don't know anyone who would admit that they do not want to succeed. It is very difficult to find someone who proclaims that they would really prefer to fail, rather than to succeed in life. Most people would say that they do want to reach their goals (at least those who still have goals).
However, you and I know that not everyone achieves their goals. We have all seen some succeed and some fail. In life, there will always be winners and there will always be losers. Some will fail while others succeed.
Some people have a real desire to do something or to be somebody. They can see where they would like their life to be. But, the problem for them is that they never really get started on the journey. They cling to the wishing attitude of, "Well, that would sure be nice." They may see where they would "like to be," but they don't know how to get there, and that's as far as it goes. Instead, they just choose to settle for wherever their life is now.
Then, there are people who get really excited about their goals and dreams. They begin with all the enthusiasm of a champion racehorse exploding out of the gates at the Kentucky Derby. They run full speed as fast and as hard as they can. But, sadly, that excitement is short lived, and they give up, and quit very quickly.
We have all seen people who decide to roll up their sleeves, and begin to work hard and systematically, refusing to quit and refusing to get discouraged. They come up with a system or a plan that they are convinced will work. However, they lack the flexibility to make adjustments along the way. They have convinced themselves that their plans and methods are the only way to arrive at their destination. They unknowingly wear blinders, and consequently, they miss great opportunities for success.
For example, a person may be convinced of a certain marketing strategy. That's what they will use exclusively, no matter what. They are not open to investigating any other avenues. They believe that if they just work hard and long using this strategy, and don't quit, it will happen eventually.
Without being flexible, your margin for success becomes very narrow. The times we live in are changing daily. (Even our English language adds new words every week.) Working hard and refusing to quit are both admirable qualities, but resistance to change can hinder your success.
Finally, there are those who work hard, refuse to give up, and are willing to change their plans and strategies if necessary. They don't have the attitude, "I know what I am doing, and I have it all figured out." Instead, their attitude is, "I want to learn. Is there something more I need to know? Is there another way?"
Horseracing offers a good analogy. Although I do not know very much about the sport, I do know that it is not just the fastest horse, or the horse that breaks out of the gate ahead of the rest that wins the race. There is strategy involved. Strategy not only plays a major role, it changes from time to time depending on the circumstances.
In fact, I am told that there are numerous factors involved in the strategy for each and every race. Factors may include the type of track, the weather, the length of the race and the other horses competing in the race. You cannot instruct a jockey to just simply go at full speed and not give up. Strategy is involved.
In life, there are times when we too need to adjust our strategy.
So, work hard, refuse to give up, but be flexible in your plans and strategies. You can cross the finish line a winner. You can succeed!
